(North Vernon, IN)-- The Cleary Cougar baseball team opened up their spring break road trip with a pair of games vs. the IUPUC Crimson Pride Saturday afternoon.
In Game 1: After the Crimson Pride scored in each of the game's first two innings, Cleary stormed back in the 3rd, to score 7 runs, added another in the 4th, and four more in the 7th in take a 12-6 victory.
Travis Klocek went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits while striking out 2 to pick up the win. The Cougar top of the order was impressive, with 10 RBI coming from the first five of the order. Kristian Scalf went 1/3 with 2 RBI, while Zach Agemak went 2/3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Ben Cerven and Billy Flohr had 2 RBI apiece for the Cougars.
In Game 2: It was the Nate Raniszewski show, as the starting pitcher was dominant, pitching a complete game shutout and striking out 7, while only facing three batters above the minimum in the outing.
Zach Agemak added another RBI, and scored a run, while Jesnel Soto went 1/3 with an RBI for the Cougars, who went on to win 3-0.
Cleary is now 8-4 overall, and will be back in action for another double-header this afternoon vs. IUPUC. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
