Women's Golf Takes 6th at WHAC Championships

(Augusta, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's golf team braved the snow, wind, and just all around cold en route to the highest finish in school history Monday and Tuesday at the WHAC Championships.
- Lauryn Jerke and Olivia Rushton both shot 250 to tie for 16th. Jerke posted rounds of 79-92-79, while Rushton shot 86-83-81.
- Olivia Root finished in 23rd after shooting rounds of 86-80-91
- Madeline Swett shot 88-87-86 to finish in a tie for 26th after shooting 261
- Kelsey Elliott played the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and shot 89-95
- Alexis Sharplin posted a 90 in the 1st round
Cleary was in 7th place heading into the final round, and climbed the leaderboard to take 6th, which was the best finish in school history at the WHAC Championships. The Cougars finished just 3 strokes out of a tie for 5th place behind Lawrence Tech. Lauryn Jerke's two rounds of 79 and Olivia Rushton's 81 in the final round were personal bests.
