Zach Wood has been announced as the fourth head coach in the history of Cleary University on February 25, 2026.

Wood comes to Cleary after spending one season as the Assistant Head Coach for Siena Heights University's women's wrestling program, where he coached from 2025-26. Prior to his time with the Saints, Wood spent two seasons at Albion College as the Assistant Head Coach for both the men's and women's wrestling programs from 2021-23. During his time at Albion, Wood helped both programs earn NCAA Division III top-25 rankings, coached 13 Scholar All-Americans, and coached 9 national qualifiers.

Wood's coaching career started in 2018, when he was named the Head Coach at Holly High School, where he coached 4 individual State Champions.

Wood is a native of Clarkston, Michigan, and wrestled at Oxford High School before joining the Lake Erie College wrestling team from 2014-18. He graduated in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Studies in 2018.

Wood currently lives in Albion, Michigan, with his fiance, Grace, his step-daughter, Georgia, and his daughter, Magnolia.
