Bowling Concludes AHBA Season With Pair of Top 10 Team Finishes
(Monroe, MI)- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams wrapped up the 2023-24 AHBA league season, as both teams finished in the top 10 on Sunday in Monroe.
The format of the tournament was different than previous tournaments, as each team would bowl 30 Baker games, and the individual games would follow. Each bowler would only get one individual game.
In the Men's Meet:
- Ethan Parker bowled a 237 to claim 5th place as an individual
- Corey Goldsmith finished in 29th after bowling a 205
- Howie Hammond finished in 51st with a game of 179
- Zachary DeLong bowled a 155 to finish in 71st
- Matthew Radjewski finished in 80th with a game of 135
As a team, Cleary finished in 9th place out of 17 teams with a total of 6,619 pins. They also had a Baker game of 276, which was a school record for an individual game in the format.
In the Women's Meet:
- Hailee Hale led the way for Cleary, witha game of 212 to finish in 4th place
- Finishing in 17th was Courtney Witten, who bowled a 191
- Sam Dulz was right behind Witten, and finished in 19th after bowling a 182
- Amy Jackson finished in 28th after bowling a 177
- Cali Hunter bowled a 164 to finish in 37th
As a team, Cleary knocked down 6,323 pins, and finished in 3rd place out of 12
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, February 3, when they bowl in the WHAC's 4th Jamboree. The action gets underway at the Allen Park ThunderBowl at 7:00 AM.
