Men's Basketball's Ellis Named Second Team All-WHAC; Season Awards Announced
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced it's 2025-26 season awards, and multiple men's basketball players have been recognized.
Nick Ellis made a huge impact in his one season as a Cougar, as he was named Second-Team All-Conference, becoming the first Cougar in program history to be named to the first or second teams. Ellis, a senior from Lansing, averaged 11.1 points per game, while grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game for the Cougars. He shot 45.3% from behind the arc, which ranked third in the WHAC, and his 40 blocks ranked fourth in the WHAC. He will graduate from Cleary having ranked second all-time in blocked shots in program history.
Being named to the Champions of Character team was sophomore guard Trevor Viau. He was chosen as Cleary's representative for best representing the five core character values of the NAIA.
Also recognized were student-athletes who were named to the All-Academic Team. To be honored, student-athletes must have had at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have attended Cleary for at least one full year. They were (in alphabetical order):
