Esports' League of Legends Team Falls in WHAC Tournament; Cougars Finish Third Overall
(Fort Wayne, IN)-- The Cleary Cougar esports team was back in action Sunday for the League of Legends conference tournament. Though Cleary was the defending League of Legends champion, the team was seeded #8 in this year's bracket, and fell to the #1 seed, and eventual champion, Aquinas Saints 2-0 in Sunday's single elimination bracket.
The loss gave the Cougars 2.5 team points for the overall WHAC conference standings. Cleary had earned 5 team points for their Rocket League finish in the fall, and earned the maximum 8 points after winning Overwatch 2 on Saturday, to total 15.5 points, which placed the Cougars 3rd in the WHAC. Siena Heights won the conference championship with 20 team points (7-6-7), while Indiana Tech would finish in 2nd with 19 team points (6-7-6).
