Cougars Picked 1st in Overwatch 2 Preseason Poll; 8th in League of Legends
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released it's 2024 esports Overwatch 2 and League of Legends preseason coaches poll.
Cleary was picked to win the Overwatch 2 championship, after earing 5 first place votes and receiving 58 points. Indiana Tech received 53 points and 2 first place votes. Defending Overwatch 2 champion Lourdes was picked to finish 3rd, while Rochester was tabbed in 4th with 1 first place vote. Lawrence Tech, Siena Heights, Aquinas, and Concordia would round out the rest of the preseason poll in 5th-8th place.
Though Cleary is the defending League of Legends WHAC champion, the Cougars would be picked to finish in 8th place for the 2023-24 season. Aquinas would claim the preseason's top spot, with 4 first place votes and 59 points. Rochester is picked to finish in 2nd with 55 points and 3 first place votes, while Siena Heights was picked 3rd with 54 points and 1 first place vote. Indiana Tech, Lawrence Tech, Concordia, and Lourdes claim the 4th-7th place picks respectively.
Both games will get underway in February, and the WHAC Championships will be held later in the spring.
