WHAC Coaches Predict Baseball Will Finish in 6th Place
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released it's 2026 Baseball preseason coaches poll, and the Cougars were picked to finish in 6th place by the WHAC coaches.
Two-time defending regular season champion UNOH were picked to win the league, earning 11 ouf of 12 first place votes. Two-time defending WHAC tournament champion Indiana Tech earned 1 first place vote, and were picked to finish in 2nd place. Madonna, Aquinas, and Lawrence Tech round of the top-five.
Cleary, who went 23-27 overall, 13-15 in the WHAC last season, were picked 6th by the WHAC coaches. Cleary made the WHAC tournament for the first time in program history as the 7-seed last season.
The Cougars are scheduled to open their season on Saturday, February 14, when they travel to take on the Rio Grande Red Storm in a four-game weekend series. Cleary will play their WHAC and home opener on Sunday, March 15, when they host the Siena Heights Saints at Lake Trust Stadium. The double-header is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
