Harsh Course Conditions Prove Tough for Cougars

(Brighton, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar Women's Golf team played their final tournament of the 2023 fall season today as they hosted the Cleary Cougar Fall Classic at Oak Pointe Country Club. The cold and wet conditions proved to be tough on the course as the ladies finished 6th overall as a team.

  • Kelsey Elliott finished her day as the top Cougar tied for 17th overall, posting a score of 88.

  • Lauryn Jerke would follow her teammate finishing with a score of 89 to tie her for 20th overall. 

  • Jana L'Esperance tied for 22nd, posting a score of 91.

  • Madeline Swett tied for 30th after shooting a 96.

  • Emma Smith who was entered as an individual posted a score of 99 to put her in 36th place.

  • Maryann Montgomery finished 37th overall after shooting a 100 on the day

The Cleary Cougar Fall Classic wraps up the women's fall season. They look forward to putting in the work this winter to prepare them for their spring season.
