Women's Golf Takes Home Third at Concordia Cardinal Classic Invitational

(Ypsilanti, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar women's golf team had another strong outing, as they took home third place at the 54-hole Concordia Cardinal Classic Invitational at Washtenaw Golf Club this week.
- Madeline Swett led the way, posting her second consecutive top-3 finish, as she ultimately finished in a tie for 2nd place individually with scores of 84, 93, 78. Though Swett and two other golfers all shot a 3-round total of 255, a playoff was used to determine the winner, where Caitlin Lysher of Spring Arbor won the playoff hole.
- Olivia Root also brought home some hardware, as she fired a 3-round total of 256 to finish in a tie for 4th place
- Olivia Rushton was entered as an individual, but earned a top-10 finish, as she shot 264 over three rounds to finish in 9th place
- Lauryn Jerke and Alexis Sharplin each shot 282 to finish in a tie for 19th place
- Kelsey Elliott shot a 283 to finish in 21st place
As a team, Cleary shot a 1,071 (350-366-355) to finish in 3rd place as a team.
The Cougars will next be in action on Wednesday, September 21, when they participate in the Aquinas Fall Invitational at Kauffman Golf Club in Wyoming, Michigan.
