Men's and Women's Cross Country Focuses on Progress at Jayhawk Invite

(Muskegon, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's cross country teams returned to action Saturday afternoon, as they ran in the Muskegon Community College Jayhawk Invite.
In the Men's 8K Race:
- Pacing the Cougars was Hunter Anderson, who finished in 119th with a time of 29:01.08
- Ben Iobe and Noah Blondke finished back to back, with times of 29:29.93 and 29:33.55 respectively
- Running a 30:41.55 was Preston Mackenzie, who finished in 146th
- Earning a 158th place finish was Jameson Watson with a time of 31:42.71
- Mason Wildie ran a 33:07.66 to finish in 168th
- With a time of 33:33.48 was Devin Mackenzie, who finished in 175th
- Logan Betke ran a 36:07.81 to round out the Cougars
As a team, Cleary earned 424 points and finished in 15th place.
In the Women's 5K Race:
- Maryann Pennington led the Cougars with a time of 21:48.94, and finished in 104th
- Finishing in 128th was Rylie Bjorkman, who ran a 23:16.34
- Adisyn Pierce finished in 140th with a time of 25:22.97
- Rounding out the Cougars was Kiera Smith, who ran a 27:10.43
The Women did not earn a team score in the race.
Both teams will have a week off before running in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday, October 25 in Grand Rapids.
