Men's and Women's Cross Country Take Strides at LCC Invite

(Lansing, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's cross country returned to action Friday, as they ran in the Lansing Community College Invitational at Grand Woods Park.
In the Men's 8K Meet:
- Hunter Anderson earned a 50th place finish to lead the way for CU, with a time of 29:43.8
- Finishing in 59th was Ben Iobe, who ran a 30:18.3
- Preston Mackenzie ran a 30:36.6, and finished in 63rd
- Running a 30:59.7 and finishing in 70th was Jose Domecq
- Noah Blondke ran a 31:53.8 to finish in 76th
- Finishing in 91st was Mason Wildie, who ran a 33:40.9
- Jameson Watson ran a 33:48.6 to finish in 92nd
- Devin Mackenzie ran a 34:34.7, and finished in 98th
As a team, Cleary earned 246 points, and finished in 9th place
In the Women's 5K Meet:
- Maryann Pennington led the way with a 22:57.5 to finish in 34th place
- Running a 25:20.6 was Rylie Bjorkman, who finished in 58th
- Kiera Smith finished in 66th place with a time of 29:53.0
Cleary did not earn a team score in the women's race.
Both teams will be back in action next Friday, September 26, when they run in the Siena Heights Invitational.
