Cougars Have Strong Showing at Raider-Knight XC Invite

(Grand Rapids, MI)-- The Cleary men's and women's cross country teams competed in the most challenging field on their schedule so far, and had a strong showing from both teams.

In the men's 8K race, the Cougars finished in 6th place out of 10 team scores, and were led by Ethan Beres who ran a 26:39.8, which was good enough to finish in 10th place.  Donovan White was the next Cougar to cross the finish line with a time of 26:57.5, and he finished in 23rd place.

In the women's 5K race, Mallory Tognetti finished in 4th place overall after running a time of 18:57.5, just 5 seconds out of 2nd place.  Teammate Lauren Gores finished in 16th place with a time of 20:01.3.

Both teams will be back in action this Friday, September 24, when they run in the Firebird Invitational hosted by Kirtland Community College.
