Wrestling Drops Home Dual to Rochester Christian

(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar wrestling team would earn four match victories, but it would not be enough to secure the dual victory, as they fell at home to the (RV) Rochester Christian University Warriors Friday evening.
- Jose Domecq would start the Cougars off with a victory via forfeit in the 125 lb. class, earning 6 team points
- Anthony Walker would suffer a defeat by fall in 3:36 in the 133 lb. class
- In the 141 lb. class, Jake Lynn would lose by fall in 6:56
- Preston Auld would be pinned in the 149 lb. class in 4:04
- Jack Gruno would earn a fall victory over Hunter Thomson in the 157 lb. class. He earned the pin in 4:17, and earned 6 team points
- Wyatt Clements would suffer a defeat by fall in 3:56 in the 165 lb. class
- Rodney Winston would be forced to withdraw during his 184 lb. match, and lost by a medical forfeit
- Zack Peters would earn a medical forfeit victory in the 197 lb. class, earning 6 team points
- The final match of the evening featured Tunde Oroye winning by a 9-4 decision over Noah Iobe. Oroye would earn 3 team points.
As a team, Rochester Christian would defeat Cleary by a 36-21 score.
The Cougars will be back on the mats next Saturday, January 17, when they host the Lourdes Gray Wolves at Cleary Commons in a dual meet. The match will get underway at 1:30 PM.
