Wrestling Drops Matches at WHAC Super Duals in Ohio
(Defiance, OH)-- The Cleary Cougar wrestling team was in action Saturday, with a quartet of WHAC dual meets at the WHAC Super Duals on the campus of Defiance College.
in the Dual vs. Indiana Tech: Jordan Rodriguez would earn a 12-5 decision victory over Trevor Hisey to earn 3 team points in the 125 lb. class. Tyrone Evans, Jake Lynn, Preston Auld, Louden Stradling, Wyatt Clements, Justin Major, Zack Peters, Naziah Rice, and Tunde Oroye would all lose their respecitve matches.
Cleary lost to Indiana Tech 48-3
In the Dual vs. Defiance: Jordan Rodriguez would earn 6 team points for the Cougars after winning by forfeit in the 125 lb. class. Jacob Lynn and Tunde Oroye would also win 6 team points in the 141 lb. class and 285 lb. class, respectively. Louden Stradling would earn 4 team points in the 157 lb. class after winning 15-4 in a major decision. Ernesto Garza, Preston Auld, Justin Major, Wyatt Clements, Zack Peters, and Naziah Rice all lost their matches.
Cleary would fall to Defiance 31-22
In the Dual vs. Siena Heights: Jordan Rodriguez picked up his third victory of the day with a 15-5 major decision in the 125 lb. class, earning Cleary 4 team points. Wyatt Clements also earned a major decision victory in the 174 lb. class, with a 15-6 score in his match. Eathan Westfall would earn a pin in 2:50 in the 285 lb. class, earning 6 team points. Tyrone Evans, Jake Lynn, Preston Auld, Lydon Rogers, Ben Blyveis, and Naziah Rice all dropped their respective matches.
Cleary would lose 32-14 in the meet to the Saints.
In the Dual vs. Marian: Lydon Rogers would earn 6 team points in the 157 lb. class after a Marian forfeit. Ernesto Garza, Tyrone Evans, Jake Lynn, Preston Auld, Ben Blyveis, Wyatt Clements, Zack Peters, Naziah Rice, and Eathan Westfall all dropped their matches.
Cleary would lose the match 46-6
The team will return to action just before the Christmas holiday with a trip back to Kentucky to participate in the Battle in the Bluegrass on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands on December 19
