Wrestling Upended by Golden Eagles in WHAC Dual

(Howell, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar wrestling team returned to action Thursday evening, with a dual match against the (RV) Cornerstone Golden Eagles inside Cleary Commons.
- Ernesto Garza would earn a pin in 1:07 to earn six team points in the 125 lb. match
- In the 133 lb. match, Jordan Rodriguez lost a hard fought bout by a 6-3 decision
- Jake Lynn would suffer a defeat by fall in the 141 lb. division after 4:42
- In the 149 lb. match, Preston Auld would suffer a fall defeat in 4:36
- Lydon Rogers suffered a pin defeat in 3:42 in the 157 lb. match
- Justin Major would go all three rounds, but suffered a 10-4 loss by decision
- In 174 lb. match, Zack Peters would lose by a technical fall in 4:59 by an 18-3 score
- Rodney Winston would have to take a medical forfeit in the 184 lb. match
- Naziah Rice would go down in 0:58 to lose by a fall in the 197 lb. match
- In the 285-heavyweight match, Tunde Oroye would earn a 16-4 major decision, earning Cleary four team points
Cleary would lose the match by a 41-10 score. The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, November 22, when they travel to Defiance College for the WHAC Super Duals.
