Houdaille Earns Co-Golfer of the Year Honors; Season Awards Announced
(Howell, MI)-- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced it's 2026 season awards for men's golf, and multiple student-athletes have been recognized.
Axel Houdaille became the first men's golfer to earn First Team All-Conference and Golfer of the Year honors. Houdaille, a sophomore from Glanville, France, had the best total score of the combined WHAC Fall Preview, played at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan, and this week's WHAC Championships, played at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Indiana. He shot rounds of 76-74-71 in the fall, and rounds of 72-69-79 this week to total 441 strokes. His 441 total score tied him for first place with UNOH's Oliver Rogers and Guillermo Garron.
Rory Sturos was named to the Champion of Character team, for best representing the five core character values of the NAIA, which demonstrates the NAIA's core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Also recognized were student-athletes who were named to the All-Academic Team. To be honored, student-athletes must have had at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have attended Cleary for at least one full year. They were (in alphabetical order):
