Cleary Bowling Competes in First Tier 1 Tournament at Midwest Collegiate Open
(Clinton Twp, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams were in action this weekend at the Midwest Collegiate Open, their season's first tier one tournament.
In the Men's Meet:
- Bryce Owens would bowl five-games of 176-183-182-211-193 to total 945 pins, and earning a 95th place finish
- Bowling four games of 143-215-192-199 was AJ Clark, who finished in 158th with 749 total pins
- Knocking down 704 total pins across four games was Ryan Ching, who had games of 202-131-183-188, and finished in 181st
- Ethan Parker had three games of 198-169-179, and finished in 246th
- Jacob Chouinard bowled three games with scores of 157-210-175, and finished in 252nd
As a team, Cleary knocked down 4,475 pins in the 5 team games, and 2,948 pins in the 16 Baker games to total 7,423 pins. That allowed them to finish in 38th place out of 51 teams
In the Women's Meet:
- Courtney Witten had a strong showing to lead the way with a 50th place finish. She bowled games of 159-152-195-218-195 to total 919 pins
- Finishing just 17 pins behind Witten was Grace Polega, who bowled games of 164-184-188-215-151, to total 902 pins, which earned her a 55th place finish
- Bowling games of 197-142-169-157-183 was Aubrey Rowlson, who finished in 78th place and knocked down a total of 848 pins
- Olivia Solomon would earn 87th place with a total of 832 pins, with games of 164-173-203-162-130
- Only bowling four games was Brianna Swickard, but she had games of 171-147-167-160, and finished in 163rd
As a team, Cleary knocked down 4,280 pins in the 5 team games, and 2,668 pins in the 16 Baker games to total 6,948 pins. That total was good enough to earn 23rd place out of 42 teams.
Both teams will have a couple weeks off before returning to the lanes on October 25, when they participate in the AHBA #1 Jamboree at the Super Bowl in Canton.
