Bowling Has Historic Best Day at AHBA Number 1
(Canton, MI)-- After being inactive for almost a month, the Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams made history at the AHBA #1 jamboree at the Super Bowl in Canton, Michigan on Saturday.
In the Men's Meet:
- Howie Hammond won the men's tournament with a six-game series of 267-245-198-236-172-300, to total 1,418 pins. The 300 game was the first ever 300 game in Cleary bowling history.
- AJ Clark would finish in 17th place after bowling games of 198-225-268-167-184-192
- Finishin in 58th was Xander Finkbeiner, who bowled games of 225-246-147-205
- Justin Perdue bowled games of 255-212-192-136, and finished in 61st
- Bowling in only three games was Bryce Owens, who had games of 200-188-171, and finished in 74th
As a team, Cleary knocked down 6,037 pins and finished in 4th place out of 15 teams
In the Women's Meet:
- Samantha Dulz led the way with a 5th place finish, after bowling games of 181-237-184-181-149-210, to knock down 1,142 pins
- Courtney Witten wasn't too far behind, and finished in 7th after bowling games of 166-220-190-206-193-157
- Finishing in 9th place was Leigha Rue, who bowled games of 167-152-171-185-224-202
- Olivia Solomon bowled games of 157-138-234-219-184-153 and finished in 11th place
- Bowling games of 176-176-223-178-132-169 was Hailee Hale, who finished in 16th place
As a team, Cleary knocked down 5,514 pins and finished in 1st place out of 15 teams. It was the first time in program history that a bowling team has won a tournament.
Both teams are back in action today at the Super Bowl in Canton, as they bowl in the AHBA #2.
