Bowling Shines at AHBA Conference Championship
(Monroe, MI)-- The Cleary Cougar men's and women's bowling teams concluded their 2022-23 AHBA season Sunday at the AHBA Conference Championships in Monroe, Michigan.
In the Men's Meet:
*Only one traditional game was bowled before the team's competed in Baker games*
- Sawyer Pillen finished in 7th place after bowling a 220
- Alexander Lewis bowled a 209 to finish in 14th place
- Justin Perdue bowled a 204 to finish in 16th
- Corey Goldsmith bowled a 179 to finish in 41st place
- Trevor Cockerill bolwed a 176 to finish in 43rd
As a team, the Cougars bowled 6,816 after the Baker games to finish in 4th place out of 13 teams. This was the first top-5 finish in program history!
In the Women's Meet:
*Only one traditional game was bowled before the team's competed in Baker games*
- Samantha Dulz led the way, with a game of 180 to finish in 18th
- Erica Pyden bowled a 174, and finished in 21st
- Finishing in 30th was Jamie Crandell, who bowled a 157
- Leigha Rue finished in 34th, and bowled a 148
- Carman McMahon rounded out the Cougar scores, with a game of 128
As a team, Cleary finished in 5th place with a total of 5,864 pins knocked down. Samantha Dulz was also recognized for her efforts individually, as she was named 1st Team All-Conference, and was named the Women's Bowler of the Year for the AHBA. Throughout the AHBA season, Dulz earned 3 all-tournament team awards.
