Esports Weekly Recap: Week of October 27
October 28, 2025
(Howell, MI)-- Here is the recap for Cleary esports for the week of October 20:
On Tuesday, Overwatch dropped their NACE match against Otterbein 1-3. After starting down 0-2 and being pushed to the brink on map three, the team rallied behind high level play from Jordan Rivera to take map three. Map four they got out to an early lead and it looked like a reverse sweep might be in the cards- before Otterbein was able to push back themselves and take map four. Still, promising signs were seen even in defeat.
On Wednesday, COD matched up against Ferris St. Gold, where Cleary made quick work of their winless competition. COD continues to be a bright spot for Cleary this semester, despite the fact that they have not practiced one time due to their schedules being so hectic this semester. Looking forward to seeing how good this team does next semester when their schedules all open up- but for now, they're 3-3 with a match against Southern Illinois College this week to potentially qualify themselves for the NACE playoffs.
On Thursday, Overwatch played in the WHAC play-in tournament for seeding, having already qualified for the LAN event this weekend against Aquinas, whom they had beaten earlier in the year. Unfortunately, Cleary dropped this bout 1-3- after winning map one convincingly. The team will face 3 seed Saint Xavier in the WHAC tournament on Friday.
