Esports Weekly Recap: Week of March 13
March 20, 2023
(Howell, MI)-- Here is the recap for Cleary esports for the week of March 13:
Unfortunately Cleary's winning ways slowed down a bit this week. After 2 straight weeks of not losing a single match, some of our teams could not keep the pace up.
On Monday: The Rocket League team faced off against the other undefeated opponent in their NACE division, Central Michigan University. Cleary lost the series 0-3 to CMU, moving to 4-1 on the season.
The League of Legends team also competed on Monday, playing a WHAC match against Lourdes University, and took a quick 2-0 win to remain undefeated at 6-0 with only one week left in the regular season.
On Wednesday: The Call of Duty B team faced off against Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Cleary lost a tough series 0-3 and fell to 2-3 overall on the season with one more match before playoffs.
On Thursday: The Valorant team played against Kettering University in their NACE match up. After an incredibly close series, Cleary fell in overtime of map 3 to lose the series 1-2. This puts Cleary Valorant at 3-3 on the season, with 1 more match before playoffs begin.
On Friday: The Overwatch 2 team played their WHAC league match against a tough opponent in Rochester University, and fell to a quick 0-3 against Rochester. Cleary now sits at 3-3 in the WHAC with one more match left in the regular season.
On Saturday: The Rocket League team once again took part in the Great Lake Collegiate Rocket League event, qualifying for the group stage of the tournament. Unfortunately, Cleary lost three tough series against three tough opponents, falling 1-3 to Grand Valley State University's A and B teams, as well as Ohio Northern University.
This coming week is the last week for almost every regular season for Cleary Esports teams, as the squads look to put themselves in strong positions for good playoff seeding. This is especially true for League of Legends and Overwatch 2, as they will be looking to win the 2022/2023 Esports Championships being hosted all day on Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd at home in the Cleary Commons.
