Wes Smith Cougar Spotlight
(Howell, MI)-- Cleary University hockey player Wes Smith is being recognized in this week's Cougar Spotlight.
Smith, a senior forward from Brighton, has had the single most productive season in Cleary hockey history. He finishes the regular season with 22 goals and 33 assists to total 55 points, which ranks him T-17th across all ACHA divisions, and is 2nd among ACHA Division 1 players, only trailing Sam Bourdages of Purdue Northwest. Smith's 22 goals are second most for a Cougar in a single season, and his 33 assists are the most for a Cougar in a single season. The 55 points scored is also a program single-season record. In 36 games played this season, Smith has been held without a point in just 9 games.
Smith and the rest of the Cleary hockey team will be in action this Friday, February 16, when they travel to Dearborn to take on the #3 seed UM-Dearborn Wolverines in the WHAC Tournament. The puck will drop at approximately 7:00 PM.
