Ben Cerven Cougar Spotlight
(Howell, MI)-- Cleary University baseball player Ben Cerven is being recognized in this week's Cougar Spotlight.
Cerven, a junior from Decatur, Michigan, had his 8-game hitting streak come to an end in Saturday's game two win vs. UNOH. During the streak, Cerven went 15-27 (.556 avg.) with 16 RBI, 11 runs, 8 extra base hits (2 HRs, 2 3Bs, 4 2Bs), 6 walks, 3 stolen bases, and 3 hit by pitches. Cleary went 6-3 in the 9 games played during the streak, including sweeps over perennial WHAC powers Madonna and UNOH over the weekend.
For his efforts, Cerven was named the WHAC Baseball Player of the Week, becoming the second Cougar baseball player to earn WHAC Player of the Week honors this season.
You can catch Cerven and the rest of the Cleary baseball team on Tuesday as they travel to Grand Rapids to take on Aquinas, and this Friday, April 14, when they host Rochester at Lake Trust Stadium.
