(Sept. 30, 2017 - Louisville, KY) -- Over 300 runners ran in the Louisville Classic, and that was just in the division that didn't feature either Division I or Division II participants. In such a crowded field, Joe Ufolla (Sr. - Leonard, Mich.) had a strong afternoon finishing 33rd overall on the individual leaderboard with a time of 27:19.41.

Jacob Hedrick of Hanover College was the individual champion with a time of 25:39.49 nearly six seconds ahead of runner-up Blake Harris of Manchester College. Ufolla was only 13 seconds away from a top 25 finish.

Not too far behind Ufolla was Kaleb Coston (Sr. - Ithaca, Mich.), who was 49th overall, finished with a time of 27:29.16. Zachery Adkins (So. - Durand, Mich.) was the only other Cleary runner to break the top 100 as he finished with a time of 28:08.26 to finish 93rd overall.

Greg Trierweiler (Sr. - Westphalia, Mich.) missed the top 100 by 10 seconds with a time of 28:20.86 for 108th.

Cody Hepinstall (So. - Marysville, Mich.) was 160th at 29:13.05 with Garett Nelson (So. - Clio, Mich.) less than two seconds behind at 29:15.82 at 164th. Caebryn Crabtree (So. - Redford, Mich.) was 177th at 29:25.07.

"I thought there were some things we could have done better and there will some things that we will need to work on over the next couple weeks," said head coach Ian Boyle. "Our goal was to be in the top 10 and we ended up 15th, but I was very happy to see our team improve on our 27th place finish from last year, reduce our score by over 200 points and beat some teams we have never beaten before."

Cleary as a team was 15th with 424 points, which was tied with Manchester. The men have two events in October - the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational on the 13th and the Eastern Michigan Open on the 20th - before the USCAA National Championship on November 10.
