(June 7, 2017 - Howell, Mich.) -- Daniel Pudduck is a multi-sport athlete who has excelled on the gridiron, on the links and on the field at Linden High School. That athleticism is what drew the attention of Cleary men's lacrosse coach Josh Carl, who recently signed Pudduck to his program.

"Danny has played football and lacrosse and also played golf at Linden," Carl said. "Each sport has its own intricacies and having the ability to succeed in each demonstrates not only his athletic ability but his mental approach to each sport. Those qualities will serve him well for us in lacrosse."

Pudduck played two years of lacrosse at Linden, which just finished its third season ever as a program. His senior season, Pudduck was given the Coach's Award for the Eagle football team.

Pudduck, who is considering majoring in management, switched from golf to lacrosse in the spring and that decision paid of with a scholarship to Cleary, but as well athletically short-term as well as long-term.

"I figured I had the rest of my life to play golf," he said. "I had only a few years to play lacrosse, and when I switched I realized I really liked it and was pretty good. Now I get to play lacrosse in college and will always be able to return to golf later in life."

Pudduck chose Cleary due to its business focus and the size of the school.

"Education is the most important thing and I felt with the smaller class sizes I would be able to learn more effectively," he said.
